The Garden of Hephaistos

The Garden of Hephaistos was a garden on Kolonos Agoraios hill, by the temple of Hephaistos in Athens, Attika, Greece.

Trees and shrubs were planted in neat rows, and water features and statues further made the garden an attractive meeting place.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found Alkibiades and Sokrates talking within the garden. They tasked her to help Sophanes with his quest to attain Athenian citizenship.[2]
