Spyro was a horse belonging to a Boeotian merchant who lived and worked in Thebes, Greece during the 5th century BCE.
History
Spyro was the Oil Merchant's beloved stallion, who helped cart the merchant's shipments to his customers, which included the local athlete and the champion of Boeotia, Drakon.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War soldiers from Potnies Military Camp stole Spyro, and took it back to their camp.[1]
When the Spartan misthios Kassandra came to Thebes, she found the merchant moaning the loss of Spyro. She offered to save the horse, and the merchant was pleased with this.[1]
