- "Look at all that silver! So this is how Athens got so rich."
- ―Kassandra[src]
Lavrio Silver Mine was a heavily guarded mine located near Lavrio in the Silver Mountain region of Attika, Greece during the 5th century BCE.
At some point around the Peloponnesian War the slaves at the mine rebelled. It was swiftly stamped out, but not before it had grown large and bloody enough to be used to scare others into obedience. The Silver Griffin of The Silver Vein branch of the Cult of Kosmos sent a letter to the overseer of the mine congratulating him for dealing with the situation, as well as a piece of armor as a reward.[1] Sometime afterwards the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited Lavrio, encountering there the slave Phaidon and his master, a member of the Eyes of Kosmos branch of the Cult of Kosmos.[2]
