Hypnos, also known as Somnus in Roman mythology, is the Greek personification of sleep. Son of the siblings Erebos and Nyx, he was brother to Thanatos with which he lived in the underworld.

Influence

Sometime during her trip to Elysium, misthios Kassandra destroyed several torches of Hypnos inside enemy strongholds.[1]

Trivia

  • According to the Greek myths, Adrestia is the sister of Eros, Anteros, Phobos, Deimos and Harmonia.
  • The Greek word Ὕπνος means 'sleep'.
  • The English word hypnosis finds its origin in the name of Hypnos.
