Eden.

Eden or the Garden of Eden was a place where the people of the First Civilization were known to exist. They were an advanced race of beings, and created humanity, whom they enslaved using technology later known as the Pieces of Eden in order to build and expand their civilization. The mountain behind Eden bears a strong resemblance to that of Mount Kilimanjaro in East Africa, which may give us the location of the city.

Eden was the place where the first recorded act of human liberty was performed, and was possibly the site of the foundation of the Assassin Order.

Adam and Eve were believed to have been the first humans capable of resisting the power of the artifacts. They were born without the neurotransmitter in their brains that normal humans do, because they were created by the First Civilization as hybrid humans, and contained DNA from both races. This neurotransmitter responded to the will of the Pieces of Eden and therefore enabled mind control. Adam and Eve repelled the effects of Pieces of Eden and were known to have escaped the compound through freerunning, along with an Apple of Eden. It is unclear which Apple they stole, and what became of it. During his time as Animus Subject 16, Clay Kaczmarek obtained a video of the escape of Adam and Eve from Eden, which he split into twenty pieces and left within the Animus for Desmond Miles to find.
