Hetanu was a young Egyptian boy living in Remetch Ra during the 1st century BCE.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Hetanu was one of the children living in the rebel camp at Remetch Ra in the Isolated Desert, where they received lessons from Nawa. Around 48 BCE, Sebni told Hetanu and his friend Istellah stories about Alexander the Great and his temple. The children believed there was treasure to be found there and managed to get inside the temple. However, they were soon trapped by snakes coming from the water.[1]

Istellah did not want to leave her friend, but Henetu urged her to get help. The girl used Alexander's Shield found in the temple for protection, as the staff was too heavy for her, and left the area unharmed, heading towards the rebel camp at Theos Elpis Rift. After she failed to return for hours, Henetu started to get worried.[1]

At the same time, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa passed through the rebel camp, and heard about the missing children. Nawa told him that her cousin, Sebni, had told the children stories about Alexander the Great, and gotten in their heads the idea to go treasure hunting. To make matters worse, Sebni and another rebel, Khamet, had been captured by soldiers while looking for the missing children.[1]

Bayek promised to find the rebel warriors and the children. After freeing Sebni and Khamet, the Medjay found Hetanu in the ruins of Alexander's Temple, surrounded by snakes, and rescued him. Hetanu then informed Bayek of where Istellah had gone and urged him to find his friend, which he did. Afterwards, Hetanu returned to Remetch Ra.[1]
