The revelation in Masyaf was realized by Assassin Ezio Auditore in 1512.
Ezio had fought against the Templars and Byzantines for a great deal of time in order to obtain the keys to the Masyaf library. Now, after finally acquiring all five keys, he returned to the vacant Assassin fortress to unlock the secrets that Mentor Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad had so long ago sealed within its walls.
Sofia Sartor joined him on his journey, as she had already inadvertently participated in Ezio's ongoing adventure- having recently been held hostage by Ahmet.
Arrival at Masyaf
Prelude
Ezio and Sofia made their way through the Levant mountains to the abandoned fortress of Masyaf, where Sofia marveled at the beauty of the structure, to the doors of the library itself. At Sofia's inquiry, Ezio told her of the Assassins' origins, its Creed, Altaïr's guidance, and why the fortress had been abandoned- that it had become a too-obvious symbol of Assassin power. Still, power yet remained in the knowledge contained within its library.
Enter the Library
Leaving Sofia to await his return, Ezio opened the library and made his way inside. Though he expected to find the collected works of the great Assassin Altaïr, he was disappointed to find only the remains of the past Mentor and another key.
Vision of Final Rest
Taking the key from his predecessor's hands, Ezio viewed another vision of the past. Altaïr had sent the Assassins away from Masyaf to avoid the invading Mongols, but he himself remained behind in his library, guarding an Apple until men were ready to wield its terrible power.
Delivering the Revelation
Ezio, weary from his long years as a dedicated Assassin, took up the Apple stored in Altaïr's library. Remembering his encounter with Desmond Miles in 1500, Ezio spoke through the Apple to Desmond. He tells him of the truths he has learned, remarking on the gift of being able to speak so clearly across time.
With his revelations delivered, Ezio was able to retire from his life as an Assassin.
Aftermath
Ezio delivers the revelation to Desmond and retires from the front lines of the Assassin Order.
