"I'm attacked by a new enemy. I fear I will succumb. [...] The dreams, they become unspeakable. You are in them, Connor. I believe the visions come from this."
―George Washington to Ratonhnhaké:ton, on the visions from the Apple.[src]

Apple of Eden #3 was a Piece of Eden, an object of ancient and technologically advanced equipment created by the First Civilization to control humankind, their workforce.

The third Apple of Eden was notably used by several Presidents of the United States, with George Washington being the first person known to have possessed the artifact.

History

Apple of Eden #3 was one of the numerous artifacts created by the First Civilization to control the minds of their slave race, the humans. After the Toba catastrophe in 75010 BCE, the First Civilization slowly became extinct, and the Pieces of Eden were scattered around the world.[1]

The earliest known human possessors of this Apple were the Freemasons, who brought it over from Europe to the British colonies in North America. It wound up in the hands of George Washington,[2] a Freemason and the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, who became the first President of the United States in 1789.[3]

Some time between 1783 and 1789, Washington sought out his former ally, the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton, to show him the artifact. During their meeting in the Frontier, Washington explained that he acquired the Apple from a captured officer at Yorktown, and spoke about the strange dreams which he believed were caused by the Apple. Ratonhnhaké:ton asked if he could examine it, and Washington hesitantly agreed. Upon touching the Apple, Ratonhnhaké:ton awoke in an alternate reality.

In this world, corrupted by the power of the Apple, Washington had crowned himself king after the end of the Revolutionary War, using the artifact's powers to oppress the people of the United States and ensure obedience from his commanders. Ratonhnhaké:ton eventually managed end the illusion and return to the real world, where Washington asked him to take the Apple and sink it in the Atlantic ocean. The Assassin agreed, taking the Aquila out to sea and dropping the Apple into the depths. In the meantime, an illusion created by the Apple spoke to Washington, in an attempt to sway him into becoming King of the United States, but his resolve proved stronger; the illusion disappeared once Washington refused to claim the title of King.[4]

The Apple was eventually retrieved from the ocean and came into the hands of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, who was manipulated by the Templars alongside Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler into starting the Second World War.[2]

Later still, the Apple ended up in the possession of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President, whom the Templars perceived as a threat, as he was in favor of giving the working force more civil liberties. The driver in the motorcade, William Greer, under the influence of another Apple, took Kennedy's Piece after his assassination.[2]
