Leto is a Titan and a goddess of motherhood and 'womanly demure' in Greek mythology, with whom the god Zeus sired the twins Apollo and Artemis. In Roman myths, her equivalent is called Latona.

Biography[edit | edit source]

According to Greek myths, after Zeus' tryst with Leto, Zeus' wife Hera forbade the world to welcome the pregnant Leto.[1] The island of Delos ignored this order, and on Mount Kynthos, Leto gave birth to the twins.[2]
