Hektor was a Spartan soldier serving under Myrrine, the oligarch of Naxos Island, during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography
In 429 BCE, after a number of Parian troops landed on the beach south of Naxos, Hektor and Timo met with Myrrine and her daughter Kassandra on a cliff overlooking the beach, attacking and eliminating the Parian troops.[1]
Later on, when Naxos was blockaded by a Parian fleet, Hektor reported to Myrrine of the situation at the harbor.[2]
Trivia
- He shares his name with a Trojan prince in Homer's Iliad, who was famous for killing Patroklos and his own subsequent death at the hands of Achilles.
