The Soviet Union was dissolved on December 26, 1991. On the previous day, Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, the eighth and final leader of the Soviet Union, resigned, declared his office extinct, and handed over its powers – including control of the Soviet nuclear missile launching codes – to Russian President Boris Yeltsin.
Behind the curtains, the dissolution of the Soviet Union was planned by the Templar Order, who had retained their power over the nation since Stalin's reign.[1]
When Abstergo Industries realized that the then-leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, didn't recognize the company's goals, they manipulated Margaret Thatcher to send a letter to Boris Yeltsin telling him of their intention to depose Gorbachev. A secret meeting was called in Belavezhskaya Forest, and Yeltsin was appointed to unseat Gorbachev and take over control of Russia. He dissolved the Soviet Union and thus Gorbachev's reforms, turning Russia into a more capitalist nation.[2]
