Aegea was a queen of the Amazons, a tribe of warrior-women in Greek mythology.

Biography

Mythology

During the Trojan War, Aegea was one of those who joined the Greeks against the Trojans. During their journey at sea, her fleet engaged in a naval battle, which claimed her fellow Amazons. Aegea herself survived as Poseidon saved her.[1]

Simulation

In Aletheia's simulation of Elysium, Poseidon transported Aegea to Elysium, where she was given the lands of Deukalion's Heritage and was eventually corrupted by the Isu Persephone's influence. She was then placed to oversee the region, ruling from the Fortress of the Three Sisters. Aegea was ultimately freed from Persephone's yoke by death at the hands of the misthios Kassandra, who came to Elysium to master the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus.[2]

Trivia

  • The name Aegea is a back-formation from the Aegean Sea, which was named after Aegeus, a figure in the founding myth of the polis Athens.
