The Siege of Osaka was a series of battles undertaken by the Tokugawa shogunate against the remnants of the Toyotomi clan, united under Toyotomi Hideyori. The siege saw the destruction of the Toyotomi clan and, as a result, the last threat to the shogunate.

The Assassins, who supported the shogunate, helped ensure victory in the conflict. Hattori Masanari, son of Master Assassin Hattori Hanzō, fought valiantly during the Summer Campaign, but was ultimately killed.[1]
