The Misthios (English: Mercenary), who was either a man named Alexios or a woman named Kassandra, was a Spartan mercenary who fought during the Peloponnesian War. Through their mother, Myrrine, they were the grandchild of King Leonidas of Sparta.
Biography
As a child, the Misthios was presented with the broken Spear of Leonidas, an Isu weapon, as an heirloom by their mother. Because of their prestigious lineage, great hopes were placed upon them to live up to the strength and valor of Leonidas. However, they were sentenced to death in the aftermath of a tragedy with their own father, Nikolas, set on personally carrying out the execution.
Surviving the punishment, the Misthios was forced into a life of exile and grew to become a mercenary who made their home on a ship roaming the Aegean Sea.
Trivia
- Alexios and Kassandra are the two selectable protagonists in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. Regardless of who the player chooses, the two protagonists share the same story.
