Leto is a Titan and a goddess of motherhood and 'womanly demure' in Greek mythology, with whom the god Zeus sired the twins Apollo and Artemis. In Roman myths, her equivalent is called Latona.

Biography

According to Greek myths, after Zeus' tryst with Leto, Hera, Zeus' wife, forbade the world to welcome the pregnant Leto.[1] The island of Delos ignored this order, and on Mount Kynthos, Leto gave birth to the twins.[2]
