Kos is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Turkey that is part of the Southern Sporades archipelago alongside its sister island, Samos.[1]

The birthplace of the Hippokrates, who is heralded as the founder of Western medicine, Kos's main industry in the 5th century BCE was medicine itself.[1]
