Iobates the Stoic (died 420s BCE) was the leader of the Hephaistos Islands as well as a member of the Cult of Kosmos' Delian League branch during the Peloponnesian War.
History
Iobates made a name for himself as the leader of the Hephaistos Islands, as well as the general to a highly-trained troop, for which he accepted only the deadliest and the most obedient soldiers.[1]
At some point he contacted a highly decorated mercenary, requesting them to join him at his fort on the island of Lemnos, expressing admiration for the mercenary's spotless work.[1]
After killing the mercenary, the Spartan misthios Kassandra recovered Iobates' letter and learned of his membership of the Cult of Kosmos. She hunted him down and killed him.[1]
