The Denver International Airport satellite accident, or DIA satellite accident, was the name given to an incident that took place at Denver International Airport in the early 21st Century, that resulted in a large number of deaths. At some point during the incident Abstergo Industries lost one of their only Pieces of Eden, prioritizing Warren Vidic's attempts to uncover the location of another.
Following the incident, Abstergo learned of a "jackass baggage handler" spreading tales of "mass murder and corporate cover-ups". An e-mail to Warren Vidic on September 7th, 2012 indicated that this may well have been partially true.
Trivia
- In Assassin's Creed, Lucy clearly states the Piece of Eden possessed by Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad was the same Piece that was destroyed during the DIA satellite accident; However, this is retconned in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, as the same Apple of Eden is shown to be hidden in the Colosseum Vault by Ezio Auditore da Firenze and later found by Desmond Miles in 2012.
- The phrase "…going Denver", which is used by employees of Abstergo Industries to describe when things have started to spiral out of control, is derived from the DIA satellite accident.
