The Stoa of Zeus was a stoa by the agora in Athens, Attika, Greece.
Built after the Battle of Plataia in 479 BCE, the stoa served as a focal point for the Cult of Zeus Eleutherios.[1] The paintings within were done by the artist Euphranor, the same person who made the statue within the Temple of Apollo Patroos.[2]
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra infiltrated the stoa in order to write Sophanes' name on the list kept within, at the request of Alkibiades.[3]
