Omega Team is a clandestine task force which operates within Abstergo Industries and the greater Templar Order. The team answered directly to Alan Rikkin, and its existence was kept secret from the rest of the Order, even Rikkin's fellow Inner Sanctum members.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

In October 2016, Rikkin used Omega Team to monitor the newest member of the Inner Sanctum, Simon Hathaway, who was researching Rikkin's Sword of Eden that had once been in the possession of the eminent and influential French Templar Grand Master, Jacques de Molay. Rikkin was keen to avoid Hathaway uncovering too much about de Molay, wanting to ensure that the future of the Order was one that followed his vision rather than what he saw as de Molay's idealized yet weak approach. However, Hathaway managed to evade Rikkin's efforts, and in presenting his findings to the Inner Sanctum in London, inspired some of them to re-evaluate the way the Templars operated in the modern era.[1]

Rikkin instructed Omega Team to continue observing Hathaway and considered enacting a contingency plan known as "Double Epsilon" against the entire Sanctum. However, due to his presence being required in Madrid, Rikkin decided to leave Omega Team on stand-by, instructing the team to await further orders upon his return from Spain.[1] Later that year, Rikkin would be killed by the Assassin Callum Lynch in London, leaving the fate of Omega Team and its future operations uncertain.[2]
