Andros: Difference between revisions

Andros is a Greek island located in the Aegean Sea, north of the islands of Mykonos and Delos.

History[edit | edit source]

At some point in his life, the historian Herodotos found a curious gateway within the Abandoned Forest of Andros. When he met the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War, learned of the unique nature of the spear she carried, he directed her to visit the structure on Andros.^[1]

When they were approaching the island, Barnabas, the captain of the ship Adrestia they were sailing on, commented how he believed that the tomb of Achilles was located on the island, and Herodotos commented how Andros was known as the exporter of some of the most lavish marble in the Greek world.^[1]

Geography[edit | edit source]

The northern region of the island was a vast forest, abandoned and uninhabited, though ruins remained.^[2]

The southern region of the island was called Steropes Bay, and on its shores was located the Beach Encampment of The Chimera, a member of The Silver Vein branch of the Cult of Kosmos.^[3] The Cyclops Steropes also dwelt in the region, within the Bay of Nobody.^[4] During the Peloponnesian War, Kassandra hunted down both the Cyclops and the Chimera.^[4]^[3]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

Historically, Andros was inhabited during the Peloponnesian War. In Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, however, the island lacks even settlements, not to mention people, despite comments to the contrary.
