Lykaon was a Greek healer who lived and worked in the Chora of Delphi in Phokis, Greece during the 5th century BCE. He was the brother of Agave, and they were the grandchildren of Praxithea, a former Pythia of Delphi.

At some point during the 430s BCE, Lykaon and Agave learned the truth about Praxithea’s prophecies: instead of being born from divine inspiration, they had been dictated by mere mortals and given under duress. Haunted by this revelation, Lykaon tried to figure out a way for Praxithea to make amends and redeem their whole family.
