Herodianos was a Spartan polemarch, serving under Thaletas on Mykonos during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography[edit | edit source]
When Athens' control over the Silver Islands had been weakened thanks to Kyra's rebels and the deeds of the misthios Kassandra, the Spartan army prepared for attack.[1] When Kassandra was ready, she sought out Herodianos and joined the battle, during which she slew the Athenian military's hero, Diokles.[2] After Kassandra slew the Silver Islands' self-proclaimed king Podarkes, Athens' hold on the Silver Islands was broken and the people celebrated. Herodianos participated in the party as well, chatting with the rebel Praxos.[3]
