Frankfurt is a city in Germany.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1854, the Aurora Equestrian Troupe found themselves performing in the city, but soon came together in a meeting after Major Wallin fell ill and had been told to retire from the circus life. Nell Robinson promised to take care of the management as Pierrette Arnaud offered to solve the situation by making Birmingham their new stationary base. After she explained the reasons, the rest of the troupe agreed.[1]
In July 1863, while touring New York in the United States, the Italian opera singer Adelina Patti, enroute to the Fifth Avenue Hotel via carriage, was looking forward to her next tours of the German cities of Mannheim and Frankfurt. Her hopeful thoughts of the future were interrupted however when she was accosted by ruffians.[2]
