Italy (Italian: Italia) was a country located in southern Europe , and home to the Italian branch of the Order of Assassins during the 13th to 16th Centuries. Italy also served as the birthplace of the Renaissance, and had many beautiful cities and towns dotted across the landscape: Venice, Florence, Monteriggioni, Forlì and Rome to name a few.

Despite the ideals of the Renaissance spreading out across all Italy, during this period the nation remained divided into a multitude of city-states and Republics, notables of which included La Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia, and the Papal States. Taking advantage of this division, the Templars attempted to seize control of much of northern Italy during the late 15th century, but were ultimately thwarted in this attempt by Ezio Auditore da Firenze and his fellow Assassins.
The Apprentices are a group of editors who serve the Bureau, a team who review, monitor, and improve all aspects of Featured and Good articles, including article nominations. The Bureau is considered Assassin's Wiki Staff Personnel.

History
The Apprentice system is an expansion of the Bureau's main reach with the editors of the Wiki. In order for the aspiring Staff members to better understand the job they will be taking, this project was made so that users can experience first-hand how the Staff operates around the Wiki, by working right beside them. An Apprentice allows him or herself to be molded into a more refined version of themselves by their corresponding Rafiq, who'll be deemed the Apprentice's Mentor. An Apprentice has a higher chance of joining the Bureau, and can better cement their place in the Staff than any other editor.
Founding the Assassin Order
After having founded an Assassins Guild in Constantinople, Niccolò and Maffeo Polo traveled to Italy, where they established another Assassins Guild.

During the late 13th century the family that would later become the House of Auditore lived near Venice. Somewhere around 1296, Domenico Auditore was inducted into the Assassin Order. When his master, Dante Alighieri died, Domenico was tasked with the hiding of the Codex in Spain, but he was ambushed by Templar pirates.
It is important to note that the Apprentice Program is not compulsory in order to enter the Bureau. If a user prefers to prove themselves without the assistance of a Mentor, that option is available. This does not forbid a editor from seeking advice from current Staff, however by choosing not to complete an Apprenticeship, it is possible that progress will be slower and more difficult. Nevertheless, if an editor believes they are capable of doing it without a Mentor, they should be referred to the Bureau Nomination page.

With only his son remaining, he started impersonating a nobleman in Florence, using the money he had been given by Marco Polo. His family continued to act as nobles to conceal their affiliation to the Assassins.
Roles of the Apprentice
The following are duties of the Apprentices:
#Complete assigned projects from the Bureau Mentor.
#Maintain safety and peace throughout the Wiki in the best way they can.
#Uphold a respectable stature around the Wiki.
#Respect the other Staff members and fellow editors.
An Apprentice is obligated to fulfill the roles of a regular editor, while also fulfilling part of the Bureau's basic tasks. Being an Apprentice means that they are able to perform tasks of both a regular editor and an Rafiq on their own accord, while maintaining boundaries to some of the Staff's more exclusive tasks.

Giovanni's travels
Mentor's Lounge
In 1476, the Assassin Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, a descendant of Domenico Auditore, discovered the Templars plotted to gain power in Italy. He discovered that the Templars, led by Rodrigo Borgia were planning to murder the Duke of Milan. This act would greatly destabilize the relations between Milan and Florence, allowing the Templars to seize power. Even though he attempted to stop them, it was too late to prevent the assassination and the Assassin started investigating the event for the Medici family.

He set off to Venice, where he infiltrated the Palazzo Ducale and overheard two men sending a messenger to Rome. He followed the messenger to interrogate him, but the messenger took his own life by impaling himself on Giovanni's Hidden Blade without revealing his secrets. Giovanni searched his body and found a letter with the seal of the Barbarigo family. He took the letter to his employer and friend, Lorenzo de' Medici, who found the letter to be encrypted. The letter was then given to Uberto Alberti, who deciphered it with the help of Antonio Maffei, though they kept the contents to themselves. They then proposed to have Giovanni deliver a duplicate letter to expose the man behind the assassination of Galeazzo Sforza, the Duke of Milan.
Mentors are Staff members who have agreed to participate in the Program and take on an Apprentice should one make a successful application.

Giovanni traveled to Rome, posing as the original courier, and witnessed the letter switching hands until it eventually got in the hands of Rodrigo Borgia, who delivered the letter to Pope Sixtus IV. The Pope was worried about the Medici family not respecting him, and Rodrigo played on these feelings to gain "spiritual support and military aid." Rodrigo then made his way to an abandoned church, where Giovanni confronted him. Rodrigo offered him a place in the Templar organization, claiming that they would win the war that hadn't even begun yet, but Giovanni declined the offer and was forced to fend of a number of guards, leaving him wounded and with a broken Hidden Blade.
They dedicate a part of their time to help new editors understand the inner workings of the Wiki, and authorise progressive ranks as an Apprentice advances, in the hope that they will eventually be prepared for the responsibilities and duties of Staff.

Auditore execution
Mentors
Later that year, Francesco de' Pazzi was arrested for his involvement in the plot against the Duke of Milan, and Giovanni Auditore started to prepare for the trial against him. He had one of his sons, Ezio Auditore, deliver a letter to Lorenzo de' Medici for him, but they soon discovered Lorenzo had left the city for a few days. Giovanni was worried by this news, but Alberti told him not to worry. Later that day, he asked Ezio to deliver two more letters and retrieve one from a nearby pigeon coop, which Ezio did. The letters were deliverd to a thief, a courtesan and a mercenary, which confused Ezio, as they were not of such a respectable status as his father. When he went to retrieve the letter from the pigeon coop, he noticed a group of guards marching to his house.

When he returned home, he found the house ransacked and his father and two brothers, Federico and Petruccio taken by the guards. His mother and sister came out of hiding and explained that the guards had taken them away and were looking for Ezio too. Ezio then entrusted his mother and sister to their maid, who would take them to her sister's house.

Ezio went to the Palazzo della Signoria, where his father was being held prisoner, and spoke to him through the bars in front of the window of his cell. Giovanni told Ezio to go to his office and look for a hidden passage, open the chest that was there and take everything that was in it, which Ezio hurriedly did. The chest contained a set of robes, a sword, a broken blade and bracer and a letter adressed to Uberto Alberti, which Ezio delivered.

When he arrived at Alberti's house, Ezio noticed a robed figure moving through the house while he was talking to Uberto, and Uberto quickly assured him everything would be fine and that they had the evidence to free his family.

The next day, Ezio made his way to the Piazza della Signoria, where his family's trial would be held, and saw how Uberto Alberti lied about not having recieved any evidence and sentenced his family to death, after which they were hanged in front of his eyes. Ezio rushed to the stage, but was stopped by the guards and forced to flee.
Apprentices are editors who have passed the interview and been chosen by a Mentor to be tutored on the roles of a Staff member. They are helpful and skillful, showing the potential of being great additions to the community and assets to the Staff. Upon completion of the Apprenticeship, if the Mentor finds the Apprentice suitable for a Staff position, then that Apprentice will be put up for nomination and voted for or against by their fellow editors.

Ezio went back home, where he found Annetta. She told him the location of his mother and sister, and he found them in a brothel, where Paola was looking after them. He told them what had happened and started training under Paola, so he could take his revenge on Alberti. He also had Leonardo da Vinci repair his Hidden Blade, as he had lost his sword at the execution of his family.

After having been taught how to blend by Paola, Ezio went to the Santa Croce, where Verrocchia was displaying his art, knowing that Alberti would be there too. He spotted Alberti entering the courtyard with Lorenzo de' Medici, and quickly followed them. Ezio walked up to him and stabbed him multiple times, after which he declared that the Auditore were not dead, and that he was still alive.

Immediately after this event, the remaining members of the Auditore family left the city, as Ezio was now the most wanted man in Florence. They traveled to Monteriggioni, where they encountered Vieri de' Pazzi, a long-time rival of Ezio, and his men. However, the ambushers were quickly defeated with the help of Mario Auditore and his Mercenaries.
The Apprentice Hall is the area where Apprentices without Mentors are listed for choosing. The Mentor generally picks the Apprentice, however the Apprentice may present a request to a Mentor seeking their guidance. Apprentices are assigned by the Dai, the head of the Apprenticeship Initiative.

After that, Ezio remained in Monteriggioni for a few months, receiving training from his uncle to become a true Assassin. Once Mario declared Ezio's training to be finished, the latter decided to leave Italy, causing Mario to angrily ride to San Gimignano to deal with Vieri.
Recorded here is also a list of past Apprentices and the outcome of their Apprenticeship.

Ezio chose to follow his uncle and assist in the siege of San Gimignano, where he overheard Vieri, Francesco and his brother Jacopo speaking with Rodrigo Borgia. They were discussing a conspiracy concerning the Medici family, though no details were revealed. Ezio eventually faced Vieri on top of one of the city walls and due to Ezio's new training, he was able to defeat Vieri.

How to become an Apprentice
Those who wish to join the Staff have a challenging road ahead of them, but with proper instruction, dedication, and patience, those who are worthy will succeed.

The next day, Ezio went to the Duomo, where the attack was to happen. He noticed Lorenzo and Giuliano's arrival, and also saw Francesco de' Pazzi and one of his co-conspirators, Bernardo Baroncelli. They attack Giuliano, while two of the priests attack Lorenzo. Ezio managed to save Lorenzo, though he was too late to rescue Giuliano.

#Editors who wish to become Apprentices may sign up at this recruitment page to make an appointment (but not to sign up as an Apprentice) with a Staff member at the <big></big> for an interview. When signing up for an appointment, the user must specify what time the interview will be conducted, in order for the Staff to know what time they will be on. Once both are online, the Staff member will initiate the interview, which consists of three sets of questions, via Private Message. (Note: The interview must be taken over the IRC, so be sure to log in at the times specified, or it will not take place. For the number of chances allowed for missed interviews, see Point 3 below.)
##Before signing up, the user must accumulate a minimum of 250 edits, of which at least 200 must be mainspace edits, as well as three major edits. The major edits must be linked when the user signs up for an appointment.
##The three sets of questions will be based on three major aspects of the Wiki: Editing, Community, and Knowledge of the series.
##If the user fails to meet the Staff member at the set time, he or she can set another appointment at the desired Staff member's talk page. (Note: Only a total of three missed appointments can be accumulated. The user can no longer make an appointment after the initial missed three.)
#Once the user has concluded the interview, he or she can freely resume his or her activities at the Wiki, while the Staff convene and share logs of the interview, thus reaching a final verdict.
##If the user meets the Staff's standards: Then their name will be placed on the Apprentice Hall, where they may be chosen by a Mentor.
##If the user does not meet the Staff's standards: They are informed of the decision, and may or may not resume their Wiki activities, depending on the user's decision.

Immediately after the attack, Florence was in chaos, with Medici guards fighting of the attacking Pazzi guards. Ezio made his way to the Palazzo della Signoria, where he managed to assassinate Francesco after a short chase across the rooftops.
Sprint
#While waiting for a Mentor to choose them, the Apprentice is permitted to work around the Wiki. The Mentors that have their name signed up at the Mentors List will check the Apprentice Hall for an Apprentice that matches their personal preference, and once they find one, they will remove the name from the Unassigned List.
#Once the Mentor has chosen their Apprentice, they will contact them either by talkpage or IRC to inform them of the decision. The user is then given the Apprentice templates that distinguish him or her from other editors.
#The user is now under the watch and guidance of his or her new Mentor. The Mentor will now teach their Apprentice in whatever way they see fit by giving them assignments, duties, or other tasks that help to ease the Apprentice into a Staff-like position.
#There are ten ranks for an Apprentice to progress through: Recluta (Recruit), Assistente (Assistant), Milite (Soldier), Discepolo (Disciple), Guerriero (Warrior), Mandatario (Agent), Operativo (Operative), Veterano (Veteran), Assassino (Assassin), and Maestro (Master).
#What happens to the Apprentice hereafter is up to the Mentor to decide.

While the crowds were cheering to the Pazzi conspirators, being rallied by Jacopo de' Pazzi, Francesco's body was thrown from the Palazzo roof, causing the other conspirators to flee the city because of their failed attempt to seize power.
Leap of Faith
#After ascending through the ten ranks of an Apprenticeship, the Mentor will give his or her final input on their Apprentice to the Dai. The Dai then contacts the rest of the Staff, and a decision is made regarding the future of the Apprentice.
##If the user has gained his or her Mentor's positive input: The user will go through the Voting Process to become a Staff member. The Apprentice is then evaluated by a jury of their peers, consisting of the Staff and fellow editors. If the user gains enough positive votes, he or she is made an official member of Staff, and is given their new privileges and responsibilities. If the opposite, then the Apprentice is given a specific userbox stating that they completed the Apprentice Program. Second chances are possible, though they must first be discussed with the Dai and other Staff, who will then specify the terms of agreement. These terms will vary greatly depending on each Apprentice's situation.
##If the user has gained his or her Mentor's negative input: The user will be given a userbox as a sign of recognition, and is permitted to continue his or her work around the wiki, depending on the user's decision. The user, after setting up an arrangement with the Staff, may reapply for the Apprenticeship.

Ezio soon discovered they had fled to San Gimignano in Tuscany, where he managed to seek them out with the help of his uncle's mercenaries. He assassinated Antonio Maffei, Bernardo Baroncelli, Francesco Salviati and Stefano da Bagnone, receiving information on Jacopo de' Pazzi's whereabouts from all of them. He then followed Jacopo to The ancient Roman theatre, where he witnessed a meeting between Rodrigo Borgia, Jacopo de' Pazzi and a merchant from Venice, Emilio Barbarigo.

Rodrigo and Emilio stabbed Jacopo for not having kept his promises and then directed their attention to Ezio, sending the guards to deal with him. Ezio defended himself and finished of Jacopo. He then returned to Florence to report his progress and seek out his friend Leonardo, though he was told Leonardo had moved to Venice.

The two men met eachother just outside of Florence, where Leonardo's carriage had broken down. After having it repaired, they continued their journey together, only to be attacked by Borgia guards. The attack failed and both men managed to make it to Forlì, a city in Romagna from where the ship to Venice departed. After having saved Caterina Sforza, the duchess of Forlì, from an island, Ezio was allowed entrance to the ship and they set off to Venice.

When Ezio arrived in Venice, he soon sought out the Palazzo della Seta, which is where Emilio Barbarigo lived. As he arrived, a group of Thieves attempted and assault on the Palazzo, though this failed when one of the thieves, Rosa, got shot in her leg by an archer. Ezio assisted the Thieves in bringing her back to the Thieves Guild, where he met with Antonio de Magianis. It was decided that Ezio would help out the Thieves until they were ready to assault the Palazzo della Seta again.

In 1485, Ezio managed to infiltrate the Palazzo and overheard Emilio speaking with Carlo Grimaldi, a government official. The two men discussed the time and place of a meeting with their associates and Ezio overheard the conversation. Soon after the two men parted, Ezio assassinated Emilio and opened the Palazzo doors to let the Thieves in. From then on, the Thieves would use the Palazzo della Seta as their main hideout.

Ezio made his way to the meeting where he saw Carlo Grimaldi meeting with Silvio Barbarigo. After a little walk, Marco Barbarigo and Dante Moro joined them and they started discussing who would become the new Doge of Venice. Rodrigo Borgia also joined them and reprimanded them for making plans without his consent, after which he declared that Marco would become the new Doge, as soon as Giovanni Mocenigo, the current Doge, had been murdered. Silvio then declared he could get Cantarella, and they decided that Carlo would be the one to poison the Doge.

Ezio returned to Antonio, and together they tried to find a way into the Palazzo Ducale, though they soon discovered the place was impenetrable. I've also 'improved' (I don't know if I should call it a revamp) nearly all of the Multiplayer Map articles. In most cases that usually limited itself to a little blurb describing the map though, as well as adding galleries. I am a big fan of Assassin's Creed, I really enjoy learning so much through the series and hearing the different languages and accents; I have played all main iterations (and watched Embers), but nothing outside of that, so I guess my knowledge is a bit limited in that sense. Soon after, Marco Barbarigo was declared the new Doge and Ezio started planning yet another assassination, this time with the help of Antonio and Teodora Contanto. They eventually planned to assassinate Marco during his Carnevale party, which was the only moment he would emerge from the Palazzo Ducale. Ezio tried to win the Golden Mask that would grant him entry to the party, but due to Silvio Barbarigo bribing the man that organized the games, Dante Moro was awarded the Mask.

Ezio declared he would kill Dante and take the mask back, but Teodora told him not to as it would result in the party being cancelled. In 1488, Ezio learned from Rosa that the ship would return from Cyprus soon. He finally realized the Templars had plotted something large, something that had to do with the Codex and the vault. He spied on the ships return and decided to take the place of a courier when he learned that the Apple of Eden would be brought to Rodrigo Borgia, who was also in Venice.
</div>

He eventually confronted Rodrigo, who spoke of a Prophet, though Ezio sarcasticaly told him that no one had shown up. Rodrigo declared he was the Prophet, after which Ezio attacked him. Suddenly, Mario Auditore, La Volpe, Antonio de Magianis and Bartolomeo d'Alviano arrived and started fighting the guards. Rodrigo eventually managed to escape, though he was forced to leave the Apple behind. Ezio wanted to give chase, but was stopped by Paola and Teodora. Niccolò Machiavelli then appeared, explaining to Ezio about the Assassin Order, and all of them being members of it. Ezio was officially inducted in the Order that night.

Battle of Forlì
Later that same year, Ezio and Machiavelli traveled back to Forlì, where they planned to keep the Apple safe. They met up with Caterina Sforza, an ally of the Assassins, and she assured them the Apple would be safe in the Rocca di Ravaldino. As they reached the town, they noticed it was being attacked by Checco and Ludovico Orsi, who had been hired by the Borgia to find the Apple of Eden.

They fought their way through the city until they had it in their control again, though Caterina Sforza soon discovered two of her children had been taken by the Orsi brothers, who were willing to trade them for the Apple. Ezio was sent out to liberate the children while Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza kept the citadel secure.

Ezio quickly managed to save Bianca and Ottaviano Riario, killing Ludovico in the process. When he returned to the city, Ezio found that Checco had managed to obtain the Apple and had taken off with it, and thus he gave chase. He managed to catch up with Checco and killed him too, though he was wounded in the process. Just before passing out, Ezio saw a monk with a missing finger taking the Apple and setting off with it.

When he had recovered from his wounds, he sought out Darby O'Callahan, hoping he could reveal the identity of the mysterious monk. He was then directed back to Florence, suspecting the mysterious monk to be Girolamo Savonarola.
Bonfires
Ezio Auditore did not return to Florence until 1497, because he had traveled to Spain to thwart the Templars there. When he arrived in Florence, the city where he was born, he discovered it had changed considerably. Girolamo Savonarola had taken control over the city with the use of the Apple, and had turned Florence into a place where art and wealth was not allowed.

He met up with Machiavelli, and the two Assassins came up with a plan to break Savonarola's power, deciding they would take down his nine lieutenants in order to free the people from his tiranny. Meanwhile, La Volpe and Paola rallied the citizens to stand up to Savonarola.

After the death of his lieutenants, Savonarola too was assassinated by Ezio, though the mob had planned to burn him at the stake. Ezio then spoke to the citizens directly, telling them they were now free to do as they desired without obeying any particular ruler. Immediately after that, Ezio chased a Borgia guard who had taken off with the Apple and managed to retrieve the artifact.
Confrontation in the Vatican
Immediately after the retrieval of the Apple, an Assassin meeting was held in the Villa Auditore in Monteriggioni, where the Apple was used to reveal the location of the Vault, which was underneath the Vatican. The Assassins decided totravel to Rome and cause a distraction, so that Ezio could infiltrate the Cappella Sistina and enter the Vault.

Ezio managed to infiltrate the Vatican and made his way over the Passetto di Borgo. He eventually managed to infiltrate the Cappella Sistina and attempted to assassinate Rodrigo Borgia, who had been elected Pope. Rodrigo, However, used the Papal Staff to fend Ezio off and a fight ensued, resulting in Rodrigo escaping to the Vault and Ezio giving chase.

Rodrigo couldn't open the Vault, and Ezio revealed to him that he had never been the Prophet. Ezio then knocked him out in a fistfight and entered the Vault himself, where he found Minerva. Once Minerva had given her warning and had dissapeared, Ezio made his way out of the Vault and met up with his uncle Mario, who helped him to escape the Vatican. Together, they traveled back to Monteriggioni.
Fall of Monteriggioni
The day after the arrival of Ezio and Mario in Monteriggioni, the town was besieged by Borgia forces under the command of Cesare Borgia. The attack was fierce and the Borgia heavily outnumbered Monteriggioni's mercenaries, resulting in them taking the town without too much effort.

The attack on Monteriggioni resulted in the death of Mario Auditore and the imprisonment of Caterina Sforza, who had also been in the town. Ezio, Maria and Claudia Auditore managed to escape through a secret passage in the Sanctuary beneath the Villa Auditore, along with most of the citizens. Ezio immediately traveled to Rome, knowing that was where the Borgia were based, and was thus the base of the Templar power.

From that moment onwards, Monteriggioni became an abandoned and ruined town, without any of the status it had when it was still ruled by the Auditore family.

Liberation of Rome
Ezio collapsed on his way to Rome due to injuries he had sustained during the Siege of Monteriggioni, but he was cared for by Margherita dei Campi. After recovering, Ezio met up with Machiavelli and the two discussed how to free Rome. Ezio started of by burning one of the Borgia Towers that the Borgia had built around the city, sending a signal to the citizens as well as to the Borgia.

Ezio then focused on rebuilding Rome's underground factions, La Volpe Addormentata, The Rosa in Fiore and the Caserma di Alviano. By doing this, Ezio enforced the Assassins Guild with allies and met up with old friends of his, La Volpe and Bortolomeo d'Alviano, as well as his mother and sister, who would now lead the Rosa in Fiore.

The next important action in the Liberation of Rome was Ezio's infiltration of the Castel Sant'Angelo, where the Borgia had imprisoned Caterina Sforza. Both Rodrigo Borgia and his son Cesare were away from the Castel, leaving Ezio with no chance to assassinate them, but he did confront Lucrezia Borgia in order to free Caterina Sforza. After returning to the Tiber Island Hideout, Ezio took some time to hunt down several Templar Agents.
From that moment on, the Assassins started thwarting the Borgia even more than before, having decided to break Cesare's power while he was not in Rome. Ezio started of by seeking out Egidio Troche and enlist his help in finding the Banker, the mysterious man that supplied Cesare with the money he needed for his conquests.

Ezio soon discovered the Banker to be Juan Borgia the Elder, a cousin of Cesare Borgia himself, and managed to assassinate him during one of his parties. Soon after that, Ezio made his way to Bartolomeo d'Alviano, and discovered his wife, Pantasilea Baglioni, to be imprisoned by the French general Octavian de Valois. Using several French armors, the Assassins and several mercenaries managed to enter the French camp, Castra Praetoria, and Ezio managed to kill Octavian, freeing Pantasilea and breaking even more of Cesare's power.
After having recovered the key to the Castel Sant'Angelo from Pietro Rossi, Ezio once again infiltrated the building. Once he reached its top, he witnessed how Cesare murdered his father after the latter had attempted to poison him. Lucrezia then told him where the Apple of Eden had been hidden, and Ezio managed to recover it before Cesare could do so.

The Assassins then used the Apple to break Cesare's power in Rome, and Cesare was eventually imprisoned by the new Pope, Julius II, and locked up in the Castel Sant'Angelo. However, after a failed escape attempt, he was transfered to the Castillo de la Mota in Spain.
Battle of Agnadello
In 1509, the French army and the Venetian army were involved in a clash in the fields of Agnadello. The military conflict was a great failure for Venice, who lost more than 4000 men in the battle. Despite this, Bartolomeo d'Alviano, one of the commanders of the Venetian army, managed to put up a good fight agains the French.

Modern Times
During the early 21st Century, Abstergo Industries, a front company for the Templar Order, had a presence in Italy, whilst the Assassins continued to maintain a presence of their own. In 2012, Abstergo held Desmond Miles, an Assassin, hostage and used him as subject 17 for their Animus Project, having him relive the memories of one of his ancestors, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

Lucy Stillman, and undercover Assassin, managed to free him and they escaped to the Hideout, where they met up with Rebecca Crane and Shaun Hastings. Desmond then started reliving the memories of Ezio Auditore. When their Hideout was compromised and Abstergo came to take Lucy and Desmond back, they made their way to Monteriggioni, where they found shelter in the Sanctuary beneath the Villa Auditore.

When Desmond discovered where Ezio had hidden the Apple, the Assassins made their way to the Santa Maria in Aracoeli, where they discovered the Temple of Juno.

Apprenticeship[edit | edit source]

Shortcut:
AC:APP

The Apprentices are a group of editors who serve the Bureau, a team who review, monitor, and improve all aspects of Featured and Good articles, including article nominations. The Bureau is considered Assassin's Wiki Staff Personnel.

Roles of the Apprentice[edit | edit source]

The following are duties of the Apprentices:

  1. Complete assigned projects from the Bureau Mentor.
  2. Maintain safety and peace throughout the Wiki in the best way they can.
  3. Uphold a respectable stature around the Wiki.
  4. Respect the other Staff members and fellow editors.

Mentor's Lounge[edit | edit source]

Mentors are Staff members who have agreed to participate in the Program and take on an Apprentice should one make a successful application.

They dedicate a part of their time to help new editors understand the inner workings of the Wiki, and authorise progressive ranks as an Apprentice advances, in the hope that they will eventually be prepared for the responsibilities and duties of Staff.

Apprentice's Courtyard[edit | edit source]

Apprentices are editors who have passed the interview and been chosen by a Mentor to be tutored on the roles of a Staff member. They are helpful and skillful, showing the potential of being great additions to the community and assets to the Staff. Upon completion of the Apprenticeship, if the Mentor finds the Apprentice suitable for a Staff position, then that Apprentice will be put up for nomination and voted for or against by their fellow editors.

Apprentice Hall[edit | edit source]

The Apprentice Hall is the area where Apprentices without Mentors are listed for choosing. The Mentor generally picks the Apprentice, however the Apprentice may present a request to a Mentor seeking their guidance. Apprentices are assigned by the Dai, the head of the Apprenticeship Initiative.

Recorded here is also a list of past Apprentices and the outcome of their Apprenticeship.

Recruitment[edit | edit source]

How to become an Apprentice[edit | edit source]

Those who wish to join the Staff have a challenging road ahead of them, but with proper instruction, dedication, and patience, those who are worthy will succeed.

Blend[edit | edit source]

  1. Editors who wish to become Apprentices may sign up at this recruitment page to make an appointment (but not to sign up as an Apprentice) with a Staff member at the Official Assassin's Creed Wiki's IRC Channel for an interview.
    1. Before signing up, the user must accumulate a minimum of 250 edits, of which at least 200 must be mainspace edits, as well as three major edits. The major edits must be linked when the user signs up for an appointment.
    2. The three sets of questions will be based on three major aspects of the Wiki: Editing, Community, and Knowledge of the series.
    3. If the user fails to meet the Staff member at the set time, he or she can set another appointment at the desired Staff member's talk page. (Note: Only a total of three missed appointments can be accumulated. The user can no longer make an appointment after the initial missed three.)
  2. Once the user has concluded the interview, he or she can freely resume his or her activities at the Wiki, while the Staff convene and share logs of the interview, thus reaching a final verdict.
    1. If the user meets the Staff's standards: Then their name will be placed on the Apprentice Hall, where they may be chosen by a Mentor.
    2. If the user does not meet the Staff's standards: They are informed of the decision, and may or may not resume their Wiki activities, depending on the user's decision.

Sprint[edit | edit source]

  1. While waiting for a Mentor to choose them, the Apprentice is permitted to work around the Wiki. The Mentors that have their name signed up at the Mentors List will check the Apprentice Hall for an Apprentice that matches their personal preference, and once they find one, they will remove the name from the Unassigned List.
  2. Once the Mentor has chosen their Apprentice, they will contact them either by talkpage or IRC to inform them of the decision. The user is then given the Apprentice templates that distinguish him or her from other editors.
  3. The user is now under the watch and guidance of his or her new Mentor. The Mentor will now teach their Apprentice in whatever way they see fit by giving them assignments, duties, or other tasks that help to ease the Apprentice into a Staff-like position.
  4. There are ten ranks for an Apprentice to progress through: Recluta (Recruit), Assistente (Assistant), Milite (Soldier), Discepolo (Disciple), Guerriero (Warrior), Mandatario (Agent), Operativo (Operative), Veterano (Veteran), Assassino (Assassin), and Maestro (Master).
  5. What happens to the Apprentice hereafter is up to the Mentor to decide.

Leap of Faith[edit | edit source]

  1. After ascending through the ten ranks of an Apprenticeship, the Mentor will give his or her final input on their Apprentice to the Dai. The Dai then contacts the rest of the Staff, and a decision is made regarding the future of the Apprentice.
    1. If the user has gained his or her Mentor's positive input: The user will go through the Voting Process to become a Staff member.
    2. If the user has gained his or her Mentor's negative input: The user will be given a userbox as a sign of recognition, and is permitted to continue his or her work around the wiki, depending on the user's decision. The user, after setting up an arrangement with the Staff, may reapply for the Apprenticeship.

Recruitment[edit | edit source]

Below is the recruitment section. Be sure to have read the above policies and each Apprentice page tab before signing up.

If ever confused as to how a sign-up request is performed, please use this as an example.

  • Hello, I realize it might be a little early given that I've only been here a month, but I'd like to sign up for the Apprenticeship Program, in the hopes of becoming a better editor. My major edits would be the creation of the Sharks, Mushrooms and Rémi Farjaud pages, though the first two are relatively small pages. I am usually online nearly every day, but the hours tend to vary, so I'd designate the afternoon (14.00 PM - 18.00 PM GMT+1) of this Thursday/Friday for the interview, if that is convenient for you. Thank you very much.Crookandcharlatan (talk) 16:55, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hello, I'd like to become an Apprentice for becoming a better editor in the Assassin's Creed Wiki. My major contributions would be the creation of the pages that follows: Abenaki, Lenape and Lincoln's Sword (replica). I also have created three other pages (see my userpage). All of them are comparatively small but my only revamp was for Washington's Battle Sword (replica) which was enhanced by a few more touch-ups. I am usually in the IRC on 16:00 (IST) to 16:30 (IST) and between 19:00 (IST) to 21:00 (IST). Since I am banned from #ACWiki, I can only be accessed by queries to my nick, 'Alty'. Thank you.
