<BlaiddDdraig> Hey, in your Apprentice sign up, you need to include a link to your major edit
<IlMualim> oK
<IlMualim> There done.
<BlaiddDdraig> Umm, I ment links to the actual edit, not the pages
<BlaiddDdraig> *meant
<IlMualim> you mean the section tha I added?
<IlMualim> *that
<BlaiddDdraig> Yes
<IlMualim> On the Assassins page the edits are spread out on the sections I have added a lot to each section, how can I link that?
<BlaiddDdraig> Don't bother, just do Altair
<IlMualim> Ok
<IlMualim> Done
<BlaiddDdraig> Okay... umm.. I actually meant linking to YOUR ACTUAL EDIT. The revision of it. But nevermind, I've gone through the history and found it myself
<BlaiddDdraig> Are you familiar with the history section of pages?
<IlMualim> Sorry I didn't understand
<IlMualim> yes i am
<IlMualim> I check it often as well
<BlaiddDdraig> Well anyway, are you ready to begin the interview now? It will take about an hour
<IlMualim> yeah sure
<BlaiddDdraig> Alrighty. So the interview is made up of 3 sets, 20 or so questions in total
<IlMualim> ok
<BlaiddDdraig> They are Editing, Community, and Knowledge of the Series
<IlMualim> Alright
<BlaiddDdraig> Knowledge has a time limit of 2 minutes for each question to ensure no cheating
<IlMualim> Alright
<BlaiddDdraig> That's about that, let's begin
<IlMualim> I'm ready
<BlaiddDdraig> When you first joined here, what was the hardest aspect for you to grasp, what mistakes did you make?
<IlMualim> Coding. First I didn't even get how I was supposed to source and code the stuff properly. So I stopped editing for a while and saw how others did it.
<BlaiddDdraig> Excluding yours (above answer), what do you think is the most difficult thing for new editors to get the hang of here, whether it be a editing skill, policy/rules, or just the way things are done here?
<IlMualim> I guess it's rules, because casual editors don't go through the rules before starting off.
<BlaiddDdraig> If you came across a page titled “AC is awesome”, and notice that it was created by a user, what would you do?
<IlMualim> Add the Delete template, because it isn't supposed to be a page. It should be a blog or forum.
<BlaiddDdraig> What would you say is your specialty, e.g. revamps, templates, images, information, etc?
<IlMualim> Information
<BlaiddDdraig> Are you aware of the manual of style, such as when to use bolding and italics, how to correctly write a header, and what tense or formatting to write an article in?
<IlMualim> Yes
<BlaiddDdraig> Perhaps you could elaborate...
<IlMualim> Bolding at the start of the article when the title of the article comes in the first line. For example in the Altaïr page Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad (1165–1257) was a Syrian Assassin during the Middle Ages and, from 1191...., Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad should be bold. In a conversation, the speakers name should be bold.
<IlMualim> The names of the games should be italicised, and the dialogues in a conversation as well.
<IlMualim> The tense should always be in the past tense, unless the article is about real-world, ex: Ubisoft, or Gameloft.
<BlaiddDdraig> Do you fully understand the meaning of the words “Revamp” and “Stub”, so you know what pages do and don’t need the templates?
<IlMualim> Yes
<IlMualim> Revamp is required on pages that don't meet the MoS standards.
<IlMualim> A stub is a page which is very small, and there is more info that has to be listed. If a page is small but all known info is present then it's not a stub.
<BlaiddDdraig> Right, so that concludes Editing; onto Community
<BlaiddDdraig> If you were granted the same rights as Staff, how would you use them?
<IlMualim> To prevent vandalism, warn users who do not respect the wiki rules, and never for personal gain.
<BlaiddDdraig> Referring to the aforementioned new user having trouble with a certain aspect of the Wiki, how would you help them overcome this problem?
<IlMualim> Post a comment on his talk page explaining him the rules, and not being harsh with him.
<BlaiddDdraig> The user who created the “AC is awesome” page, has left you a message asking why you tagged it for deletion, how would you respond?
<IlMualim> Telling him that it isn't necessary, and telling him how to create a blog or forum post. Besides the reason can be left with the Template as well.
<BlaiddDdraig> A person has left you an insulting message on your talk page for no apparent reason, how do you react?
<IlMualim> I'd ask him at first why he did that, and try to stop him. But if he persists then I'd warn him (If we're still talking in the context that I've been granted staff rights) or report him to the staff.
<BlaiddDdraig> You notice a feud between two users that has gone unnoticed for quite some time, what would you do to resolve the conflict?
<IlMualim> Try to show them reason and clarrify issues (if I know anything about them, ex: they are game related). If I can't then I'd draw the attention of the staff members to it.
<BlaiddDdraig> You suspect a person of medal/badge abusing/hunting, what do you do?
<IlMualim> Tell him that he shouldn't badge hunt, and give a link to the rules for further clarification. If he continues making unnecessary edits i'd probably warn him (again if in the context that I'm a staff member) or report him to the Staff
<BlaiddDdraig> You have been accused of being rude and insulting to another person, upon review of your message, you find that you were in fact quite harsh. Yet you believe that what you said was justified, either because you or somebody else has had problems with them in the past, or you straight out think what you said was necessary. What do you do from here to prevent the problem from escalating?
<IlMualim> I'd apologise even if I felt that I was justified, unless the reason was a great one like he was being rude to others. But if I'd been harsh for a small reason I'd just apologise, yet telling him why I was harsh.
<BlaiddDdraig> So that concludes Community. Onto Knowledge, and remember the 2 minute time limit
<IlMualim> yep
<BlaiddDdraig> What do the Templars and Assassins believe, what are their goals, and why are they striving for them?
<IlMualim> Both aim for peace. Templars seek to force peace on humanity, while Assassins srive for free will, and want humans to learn from their own mistakes.
<IlMualim> *strive
<BlaiddDdraig> In what year was Leonardo da Vinci officially inducted in the Assassin Order?
<IlMualim> never
<IlMualim> He said that his path was one which he must traverse alone
<BlaiddDdraig> In which city did Daniel Cross meet and kill the Mentor?
<IlMualim> In Dubai
<BlaiddDdraig> How did Altair kill Abbas?
<IlMualim> with the hidden gun
<IlMualim> He entered Masyaf gathered supporters, kille traitors, disarmed innocent Assassins, and killed Abbas on the steps in the castle
<BlaiddDdraig> Yeah, you got it right, I'm just thinking of another question
<IlMualim> k
<BlaiddDdraig> Who sailed the ship Ezio was on to Cappadocia?
<IlMualim> Piri Reis
<BlaiddDdraig> Alrighty then. One final question which is separate to the sets
<BlaiddDdraig> Do you have any questions concerning the Wiki, its Staff, or their roles and responsibilities; or any final comments you would like us to take into consideration before we conclude this interview?
<IlMualim> Yeah?
<IlMualim> Not that I can think of.
<BlaiddDdraig> Righto. I'll convene with other Staff and once we reach a decision I'll inform you either here or via talkpage
<IlMualim> Alright
