Trial of Anubis was an Animus HR-8 error manifesting as a disruption in the simulation of Bayek's genetic memories, contained by Layla Hassan in order to preserve the data.^[1]

Bayek encounters a gigantic manifestation of the god Anubis.

The god and their minions were defeated in the allotted time, protecting the data from further disruption.
