Red Lake Bandits

The Red Lake Bandits was a bandit camp located by the Red Lake in Lokris, Greece, during the 5th century BCE.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was tasked by a Lokrian man, Supideo, to retrieve his sword and shield in order that they could be used to protect his parents from a prophecy. The sword was in the possession of the village blacksmith Kosta,^[1] and the shield had been stolen by Ailos, leader of the bandits at the Red Lake campsite. Kassandra raided the campsite and recovered Supideo's shield, setting his mind at ease.^[2]
