The Dagger was an organization of bandits and thugs located on Skyros, Greece during the Peloponnesian War. They worked from the shadows using blackmail and bribery to control the nearby Euboea. Neritos, operating under the pseudonym 'The Kingfisher' led the organization. They were also receiving funding from the Cult of Kosmos.

In 431 BCE they kidnapped a farmer who wouldn’t pay them tax. The Spartan misthios Kassandra was tasked with finding him by his wife.^[1] A slave, Agapios acting under orders from his magistrate master later employed Kassandra to find the true identity of The Kingfisher and clear suspicion from his brother, Neritos.

A smuggler working for The Dagger was using local performers Prexileos and Idyia to spread propaganda using children in their care supporting them in the theater and on the streets. Initially paying them for their service, eventually he stopped paying them and threatened to come after the children if they stopped. Prexileos wanted the man dead and would have killed him himself if not for Idyia persuading him not to, Kassandra later put a stop to the smuggler.^[2]

Kassandra’s investigations found that Agapios' brother, Neritos was in fact The Kingfisher and leader of The Dagger. Kassandra and the Magistrate rushed to confront Neritos, only to find Agapios, trying to reason with his brother. Agapios was then thrown to his death by his brother, Kassandra then avenged his death resulting in the immediate disbandment of The Dagger.
