"I have sailed past the Sirens and into the mouth of Poseidon himself. The waves bow to me in fear!"
―Sokos[src]

Sokos (died 420s BCE) was a member of the Gods of the Aegean Sea branch of the Cult of Kosmos, and the self-proclaimed "Protector of the Obsidian Islands" during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography

Young among the Cultists, Sokos was no less ambitious than his brethren. Despite his age, he commanded respect and did everything in his power to gain it, as well as glory in the eyes of Kosmos.[1]

When the Spartan misthios Kassandra slew Sokos' fellow member in the Gods, Asterion, she found Sokos' letter on him. This letter led Kassandra to Sokos' trail, as he mentioned in the letter that he would set out from Melos the following day.[1]

However, before Kassandra could kill Sokos, she had to draw him out into the open. In this she managed by weakening the Obsidian Islands, forcing Sokos to engage her and her allies in naval battle. While Kassandra commandeered the Adrestia, Sokos was in charge of the Eos. Ultimately, Kassandra and her allies sank the Eos, and Sokos was slain.[1]
