Phaidon was a slave working in the Lavrio Silver Mine under The Master during the 5th century BCE.

At some point, the Master promised to let Phaidon go if he earned enough drachmae. Phaidon did so, but after he'd given his money to the Master, the Master denied ever making such a promise, and kept Phaidon as a slave. When the Spartan misthios Kassandra learned of Phaidon's predicament, she faced the Master, learning that he was a member of the Eyes of Kosmos branch of the Cult of Kosmos. The Master suggested that if Kassandra killed a woman, he'd let Phaidon go. She refused, and killed the Master instead.[1]
