Midas of Argos (died 431 BCE) was a member of the Eyes of Kosmos, a branch of the Cult of Kosmos, who operated during the Peloponnesian War. "Who needs democracy when drachmae rules the world?"--Midas
Character Description
The Cult sought out what was old, looting tombs and ruins like petty grave robbers. Few knew what they were looking for. With the looting done, they tasked Midas of Argos with destroying all traces of these ancient sites from history. By day he was known simply as a wealthy, if ruthless, banker. By night, everything Midas touched turned to fire.
Biography
As a banker, Midas had many connections with wealthy indivduals, politicians, and other important figures. He would gain their trust and make them think he was their friend, thus gaining their secrets, which e would then offer to his Sage who would use them to her advantage in the future. Gaining secrets from clients wasn't his only task however, because at night, the Worshippers of the Bloodline would ransack ruins, tombs, and other historical locations in hoping the artifacts they found would benefit the Cult. When they found nothing however, Midas would destroy all evidence of the Cult's presence their by having his men burn down the sites, thus destroying a peice of the people's history. [citation needed]
When Kassandra infiltrated the Cult's secret meeting, she discovered a letter written by the Sage of The Eyes of Kosmos ordering Midas to clean up a ritual left by the Worshippers of the Bloodline at a historical location in Argolis. Kassandra use this letter to track him down to the city of Argos where she found him patrolling a huge tree in the city square with a couple of armed guards. [citation needed]
Nevertheless, Kassandra killed the guards and Midas himself during her quest to destroy the Cult of Kosmos.
