Kreusa was a vegetable farmer and seller living with her husband on the island of Kephallonia, Greece, around 431 BCE.

The couple had heard stories how Kephalos, the mythical founder of the island, had gifted a precious necklace to his wife, Prokris, and how the necklace had then been lost in the sea. Believing the necklace to be worth enough to get them out of Kephallonia, they asked the misthios Kassandra to recover the necklace from the ruins, inhabited by sharks.[1]

Trivia
