Kasos was a man living on the Silver Islands of Greece during the 5th century BCE.
By the time of the Peloponnesian War he had joined Kyra and her rebellion against Athens and its sway. Unlike many others among the rebels, Kasos was an extremist: he held the view that Delians didn't need anyone's help, and was willing to kill to rid the islands of outsiders.[1]
At some point, Kasos was apprehended on Delos and during his arrest he killed one of the guards. For this, he was imprisoned within the Hestiatorion to await his transport to Mykonos, where he might be hung for his crimes. The Spartan misthios Kassandra overheard Socrates discussing Kasos' fate, and freed the man.[1]
