Kallisto the Bear was a legendary bear which inhabited the eastern region of Arkadia, Greece during the 5th century BCE.
During the Peloponnesian War, the bear was hunted down by the Spartan misthios, Kassandra, sometime between 431 and 422 BCE. Kassandra looted it's pelt and returned it to Daphnae, the leader of the Daughters of Artemis.[1]
