Erastos (Olympian)

Erastos was a pankratist who took part in the pankration event at the 428 BCE Olympic Games.

At the event, Erastos served as the second opponent of the misthios Kassandra, who replaced her fellow Spartan Testikles and defeated Orion in the first round. Erastos was eventually defeated, allowing Kassandra to advance to the finals and face Dorieus.^[1]

Trivia

The name Erastos (Εραστος) meant "beloved" in Greek. It was also the name of an individual in the New Testament.
