Edonos the Charging Bull (died c. 420s BCE) was a Mercenary who operated in Greece during the Peloponnesian War.

Biography

Wielding an axe and a shield, Edonos was known for his antics of charging his adversaries when backed into a corner.[1]

Between 429 and 422 BCE, he was hunted down by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]

Trivia

  • The name Edonos (Ἠδωνός) is derived from the Edoni, a Thracian tribe. It is also the name of their alleged ancestor Edonus.[3]
