The Blue House was the residence of Ishaq ibn Khalid in the Farmer's Quarter of AlUla Oasis.

History

In the 860s, robbers under the command of Nimlot invaded the house and kidnapped Ishaq to use him in a plot against Basim ibn Ishaq, his son.[1] A short time later, after learning of the house's location and escaping from Musa ibn Nusayr Fort,[2] Basim entered the building looking for Ishaq. Finding the place ransacked, he investigated further, though was waylaid from his objective by a number of objects that reminded him of his childhood. While pondering over a book of bedtime songs on the upper floor of the house, Basim was surprised by Abbasid soldiers entering the home to pretend to investigate the disappearance, as they would not dare oppose the robbers. He then left the house and set off for Ramm Valley, based on information he obtained eavesdropping on the guards.[3]
