Priest of Kausos
|
I wanted to ask you something. Which is... what's your name? This article title is conjecture. Although the article subject is canon, no official name for it has been given. |
A resident of Kephallonia, Greece served as the priest of the Village of Kausos during the Peloponnesian War.
In 431 BCE, a blood plague broke up in the village which led to the deaths of numerous villagers. Believing it to be an act of god, the priest and his followers prayed to the gods for a number of nights, hoping it would go away. When the plague continued to persist, the priest made the decision to exterminate the plague by killing and burning anyone who was infected.[1]
The priest did so with large success, and prepared to round up the last family infected with the plague. However, he was interrupted by the arrival of the misthios Kassandra, who had been asked by Phoibe to help the villagers, one of which included her friend Kynna. The priest explained to Kassandra his decision to do so, claiming it was done on the orders of his god. [1]
Trivia
- If Kassandra chose to side with the priest, Kynna and her family would be killed, preventing the spread of the plague. If she chose to spare the villagers, then the priest and his guards would be killed by Kassandra, thus allowing the plague to spread to the rest of the island.
