- ―Kassandra[src]

Astypalia City was the largest city of Kos, and its political center. It was also home to most of the island's population, among them Hippokrates, known as the "Father of Medicine".[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the city was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]
