===Mediterranean Defense===
Much like the side contracts in ''Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood'', ''Revelations'' also allowed Assassin apprentices to embark on side contracts in various cities along the Mediterranean region, though another element was added in the form of liberating them from Templar control, with rewards ranging from bomb ingredients, currency, and additional experience for Assassins through capturing them.

Side memories were memories of Desmond Miles' ancestors that could not be exactly determined in the timeline as historical event. As a result, side memories were optional missions that could be accessed at any time through the Animus.

Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's Side Memories

When Altaïr was hunting the nine Templars, he also saved citizens who were being abused by the gaurds, climbed towers and tall building to access view points to gain a tactical advantage, collected the flags of the Templars, William of Montferrat, Talal, Garnier de Naplouse and Abu’l Nuquod. During his time in Cyprus, he collected Gold, Silver and Bronze Templar Coins.

During his time in Rome, he continued to complete [[Assassination Contracts#Rome|assassination contracts and collect feathers, but in addition to those he also started Liberating Rome from the Borgia by saving citizens, renovating Rome and assassinating key Templar supporters. He also destroyed the War Machines made by Leonardo da Vinci for the Borgia and destroyed a secret cult called the Followers of Romulus. He completed many assignments for the thieves, courtesans and assassins. Knowing that he could not take down the Borgia alone, he started to recruit people into the Assassin Order and sent them on mission throughout Europe. At certain moments during his time in Rome, he got visions of Cristina Vespucci.[1]

When Ezio later visited Constantinople in search of the Masyaf Keys, he recaptured the Assassin Dens which were taken over by the Templars and earned all of Piri Reis's bombs. Just like he did in Rome, he recruited Assassins and made them Master Assassins after some time, he also sent them to various parts of the Mediterranean and slowly eroded Templar rule. He renovated some building in Constantinople and defended Assassin Dens from Templar attacks. He collected Ishak Pasha's memoir pages and found the location of Ishak Pasha's Armour. He found rare copies of books and gave them to Sofia Sartor for reprinting. Through this he found many Secret Locations.
