The Askalaphos was a light pirate trireme sailing the Aegean Sea east of the Dioskouroi Peninsula during the 5th century BCE.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Adrestia, commanded by the Spartan misthios Kassandra and captained by Barnabas, engaged Askalaphos and her retinue in battle, and sank her. Kassandra claimed the sail and finery of Askalaphos for her own.[1]
