Uldar (Runic: ᚢᛚᛏᛅᛦ) was an ancient city located in the realm of Svartálfaheimr.
The city was home to the group later known as dwarves within Norse mythology. The city was built atop an even more ancient city known simply as the "Old City".
History[edit | edit source]
The Invasion of the Muspels[edit | edit source]
At the dawn of the Great Catastrophe in 75,000 BCE, the Muspels' warlord Surtr invaded Svartálfaheimr and set up his base within Eitri. Wanting to activate the half-finished Tower Maekinn nearby, he enslaved the land's populace and put them to work to activate the Tower for his own purpose. The dwarves within Uldar were sent into their own mines to dig for ancient artifacts made by Elves and were overseen by Surtr's half-jötun son Glöð.
Searching for a way to save his captured son Baldr, Odin travelled to the city after having visited the Grenhellir Shelter and heard word of Ivaldi's "death". He was instructed by Gunborg to find Fritjof within the city's Jeweler's District.
