Statue of Theseus slaying the Minotaur in Athens

Theseus was a legendary hero in the Greek mythology, regarded as the founder of Athens.

According to the story, Theseus was ultimately slain when he was thrown off the cliff afterwards known as Hero's Fall, on the island of Skyros.^[1]
