The shipwreck of Datis off Delos' shore

Sunken Wreck of Datis was a shipwreck located southwest of the island of Delos.

The shipwreck was believed to have belonged to Datis, a Persian general who served the empire under Darius I of Persia, as he was known to have stopped at the Silver Islands on his return from the Battle of Marathon in 490 BCE.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the location, finding one of the Ainigmata Ostraka within,[2] as well as bandit outfits for the crew of the ship Adrestia.[3]
