The Spring of Piera was a spring of religious importance located west of Olympia in Elis, Greece.
In classical antiquity, the spring was where sixteen women, who came from an Eleian and tasked with organizaing the Heraian games, sacrficied a pig and purified themselves in before the cerenomies.[1]
The spring led to a natural cave which was inhabited by bears. Around 431 BCE, the Spartan misthios, Kassandra, explored the place, finding one of the Ainigmata Ostraka within.[2]
