Aristophanes (c. 446 BCE – 386 BCE) was an Athenian poet and playwright who lived during the 5th century BCE.
In around 425 BCE, he attended Perikles' party where he met the Spartan misthios Kassandra. He assisted her in tarnish Kleon's reputation in Athens.
