Ariabignes Shipwreck was a shipwreck in the northeastern waters of the Isle of Salamis, Greece.
The Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the location during the Peloponnesian War finding one of the Ainigmata Ostraka within[1], as well as the Spartan outfits for the crew of the Adrestia.[2]
Trivia
- Ariabignes was one of the sons of King Darius I of Persia. He was killed in the Battle of Salamis in 480 BCE, suggesting that this wrecked ship possibly belonged to him.
