The banner of the Silver Islands

The Silver Islands, also called the Delos Islands and the Delian Islands, is a name used to refer to the Greek islands of Delos and Mykonos, located in the Aegean Sea. This name arose due to the silver treasury of the Delian League which was housed on Delos until Perikles had the silver relocated to Athens.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The emblem of the Silver Islands features a silver kithara, the favoured instrument of the god Apollo who was said to have been born on the islands along with his twin sister Artemis.
