Victoria and Isaiah later discover David's late night excursion and told Sean and his friends that they would be confined to quarters at night. When given the option to go home, Sean chose to stay. After the Templars had left the room, Sean blamed David for their troubles and warned him against further misdemeanor.[14] Later at night, Sean woke to find his friends at his door, claiming that the power had gone out and that a siren had sounded, the latter he had not heard. When his friends decided to look around, Sean refused to follow.[15] Not long after, Isaiah entered his room to see if he was still there, before a Templar agent informed his leader that David and Natalya were gone. Sean subsequently went to Grace's side to comfort her.[16]

After a little while, Sean and Grace were summoned to Isaiah's office, where they were surprised to see Owen, dressed as an Assassin and bound by the wrists. Isaiah told them that Owen, along with Javier and the Assassin Griffin, staged an assault on the Aerie, to which Owen claimed was a rescue mission, which Sean thought to be an insult as if he was helpless. Most of Sean's anger soon dissipated when Isaiah revealed his knowledge of Owen's obsession with proving his late father's innocence, claiming that the Assassins set him up for the robbery that he was imprisoned for. Owen refused to believe him and produced a DNA sample of his father's from after the robbery, demanding access to the Helix so he could see the truth. Isaiah asked for him to wait until morning for the DNA to be decoded and afterwards Sean and Grace showed Owen to his room.[16]

The next morning, Sean got into a debate with Owen over whose side was in the right. Sean defended the Templars, believing them different than William M. Tweed and Cudgel Cormac. Subsequently, Isaiah and Victoria entered the breakfast room to hurry them onto their simulations; Sean expressed hope that Owen would find what he was looking for in his simulation, before returning to his own simulation.[16]

Later in Victoria's office, Owen asked her if he could see Monroe, who was captured in an independent rescue attempt, having been promised a meeting by Isaiah. but Victoria claimed no knowledge of such a deal. Owen and Grace then deduced that Isaiah was going after the second prong, the former guessing it may be in China or Mongolia. After Victoria had left the room, Owen encouraged Grace to help him find where Monroe was being held.[17]

Sean chose to stay and agreed not to reveal their location. Later on, Sean confirmed that Styrbjörn indeed had his hands on the third prong, before being pulled out of the Animus by Isaiah, who told Sean to come with him.[18]

Search for the Devotion Prong

After Isaiah took him from Abstergo, Sean continued to immerse himself into his Styrbjörn's memories to find the location of the last remaining prong.[19] However, during one of the simulations, Sean discovered his ancestor was immune to the power, which prompted Isaiah to end the session. When Sean refused, Isaiah abruptly closed the session and used the two prongs of the Trident to coerce Sean to obey him.[20] Sean was continually manipulated under Isaiah's whim to follow his directions without any resistance.[21]

When Sean saw the marriage between Styrbjörn and Thyra Haraldsdottir, the illegitimate daughter, and how his ancestor placed the dagger within a mound, Isaiah took him out and informed him how they will stop due to his ancestor dying in the Battle of Fýrisvellir.[22] However, Isaiah forced Sean to relive the memories numerous times to ascertain the dagger's precise location. Sean pleaded to stop as he experienced hallucinations and nightmares. When Cole, Isaiah's security-woman, informed him of the dagger's location in Västerås, Sean was abandoned and left restrained in the Animus.[23]

Defeating Isaiah

Experiencing a hallucination of Styrbjörn telling him to set himself free, Sean broke off the restraints and made his way towards Poindexter, a self-driving AI-controlled van. Contacting Victoria, he set the coordinates to the last location of Griffin. He also cried and told her that he needed help.[23] In the woods, he found and rescued Owen, Natalya, and Grace from Isaiah while they all traveled to Victoria's contacts to take them back to the Aerie.[24]

With the help of Monroe and Victoria, Sean helped in preparing the defenses for Isaiah's attack while later going through the simulation of the unconscious collective. Although their defenses fell to Isaiah and his forces, Sean challenged Isaiah, who ordered his men to kill him. Owen stands besides him while Isaiah uses the Fear prong against all of them. However, Owen and the others held their ground against the Trident. Despite Isaiah's efforts of the other prongs, the teens breaks through the illusions. Together, they fought him and disarmed the Trident from his hold. Soon, they all watched as Javier delivered the final blow. Together, Sean and his friends held the Trident and experienced a shock wave, which led to the Trident being depowered.[25]

After the fight at the Aerie, Sean started to make visits with Victoria at her office as he continued to counter the Bleeding Effect's nightmares. With his progression going well, Victoria assured him that they will continue the Animus sessions for the prosthetics research.[26]

Personality and traits

After they both relived their ancestors memories and feelings Greyling falling in love with Natalya's ancestor Adelina Patti, Sean developed a crush for Natalya.[4]
